Meet Our Clinicians

In his work as a therapist, Sam takes a person-centered approach toward helping his clients manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, addiction, personality disorders, neurodiversity, grief, and trauma. His practice is grounded in relationships and he employs strengths-based strategies to support positive change by helping his clients integrate and re-contextualize their relationships and experiences that shape their life. Sam specializes in providing EMDR therapy, a modality that focuses on reprocessing and addressing symptoms related to traumatic experiences. 

In addition to maintaining a private practice in Missoula and Polson, Sam teaches in the Social Work Department at the University of Montana and is an EMDRIA-approved EMDR consultant. He provides clinical supervision to some of the region’s most earnest and talented clinicians and occasionally collaborates with his colleagues from around the country to offer training opportunities to the mental health community of Western Montana.

In his personal life, Sam is a musician, a handyman, and a father to two young children. He seizes every opportunity to play guitar and get out of cell service.
